Nikon D3000 or Canon EOS Rebel XS?

Nikon D3000 or Canon EOS Rebel XS?

I'm looking for a dslr camera and i've narrowed it down to these two. I currently own a point and shoot so the simpler, the better! I just want your opinions on which one you think i should get. Thanks.

I shoot Nikon, but here's my honest recommendation.

Skip either of these as they're discontinued and have been replaced by far better models. The D3100 is a major step up from the D3000 (2009) , and the Canon T3 does the same on the XS (2008)

As for which one is best, I'd recommend you handle both models, and see which one fits you and your style. Check out the controls, menus and the availability of lenses that match the types of photos you want to take.

Choosing a camera system is like buying a house, choosing clothes, or best friends. The final decision should be yours.

D3000 has no AF motor and no live view, but has 2 more AF points and one stop higher max ISO. Quality is absolutely the same, as on all DSLR cameras.
