Why do people keep saying Ronaldo is better than Messi? 10 points best answer?

I don't know what you guys are talking about because at the moment messi is simply ''out of this world''. I find it funny and ridiculous that even at this point in time you guys are still uncertain about messi's state as the best in the world and possibly the best of all-time. Would'nt ronaldo be NOTHING if he didn't have di maria and mesut ozil, and xabi alonso giving him constant support and assists? This is why most of his goals are from tap-ins and headers in truth, most of his goals are also from penalty kicks. but messi mostly gets his goals from pure individual brilliance and link-up play which he often orchestrates. To be honest any striker not only ronaldo and messi will need good midfielders to feed them the ball and play those KILLER PASSES unless they will be feeding from scraps, and would not score much goals. It's not only his goals but his all-round game is better than ronaldo's: he is more selfless than ronaldo, his agility, determination, dribbling skills, strenghth, balance, link-up play, and composure is better than that of ronaldo, the only things ronaldo has over messi is freekicks(but even that is often hit and miss), heading(because of the height advantage), and sheer pace. But don't forget messi is two years younger than ronaldo and messi delivers when it matters most but ronaldo doesn't and messi has WAY WAY assists than the more selfish ronaldo. Messi doesn't need to prove himself in another club. I know if he goes to a club where there are not quality midfielder to support him he would not score as much goal as he would if there were top-quality midfielders but so would any other striker in the world. I know ronaldo has proved himself at real madrid but that is because at madrid he still has midfielders to support him just as he did at man utd with scholes and giggs. And more importantly, he has hit his full potential. Messi is not scoring as much for argentina but that is only because he is taking the creative role, a much deeper role because argentina lack creative midfielders. people overlook the contribution he still gives despite playing in an unfamiliar position he constantly sets up his teammates and is still magic with his quickfeet and dribbling. For one I believe argentina has a very promising playmaker in pastore and if he's played a lot more that will allow him to take the creative role and providing the necessary assists and ''KILLER PASSES'' for messi to bang in the goals and set the international stage alight. DON'T FORGET HE'S ONLY 24 AND HAS A HELL OF A LOT OF TIME LEFT TO NOW DELIVER THE GOALS FOR HIS COUNTRY. Only foolish men and biased real madrid supporters would deny that he is the best in the world and by some distance as well.

Because he hasn't proven he can actually play on another team. If he can only play on one team then obviously he's not actually as good as he looks on Barcelona but rather a byproduct of their entire squad being amazing. The fact that he can score 50 goals for Barcelona in a season yet 0 competitive goals for Argentina in a span of over 2 years suggest that may be true.

Messi plays the exact same position on Argentina that he does for Barcelona. They had the entire formation made and centered around him for the Copa America and Batista got fired because the rest of the team wasn't performing because the formation was made for Messi and not them. It made players like Aguero, Tevez and Lavezzi play out wide which they don't normally do. People who say Messi played as some sort of deep midfielder obviously didn't watch the Copa America or even the World Cup. He occasionally dropped deeper to pick up the ball because the midfield lacked a creative playmaker and that's about it. Messi had the most shots in the WC so I highly doubt he was playing some sort of deep lying midfield position.

As for Ronaldo, it's not a matter of winning things. One player can't win anything on his own on the world stage. The fact is he's way better for Portugal than Messi is for Argentina, especially in the last 2 years or so.

@red devil: The fact that Ronaldo scored 42 goals in a season with Manchester United and has 8 goals in his last 9 matches with Portugal would suggest he does not, in fact, have any reliance on Di Maria, Ozil and Xabi Alonso. Saying Ronaldo has a reliance on Xabi Alonso is one of the dumbest things i've ever seen. He's a defensive midfielder. That would be like me saying Messi has a reliance on Busquets or Mascherano. As for Ozil, he's been absolutely horrible this year and Ronaldo is scoring even more than last year which would once again suggest he has no reliance on him whatsoever. But good try.

C.Ronaldo is better than Messi in free kicks, air and scoring goals because he scored more goals than messi in the last season. Messi is better than ronaldo in feints, dodging the adversarys and finalizing(knowing that CR7 scored more goals than him).

C.Ronaldo proved that he is still great playing in another club, is the top scorer of the La Liga, he scores a lot of goals with the head, he is excellent with the left and right foots, he does strong shots, he usually feints great defenders with ease, amazing jumping abilities, he knows how to desarm an oponent, he is fast, thanks to Mourinho , Ronaldo is less selfish, he is very cordial and he is always doing fantastic assistances and it´s rare for him to miss a penalty.

It´s more difficult to a winger score goals than a attacking midfielder , secondary striker or centre forward.

I agree with jon. I love messi but overall Ronaldo is a better player. He is stronger and faster than Messi. The bad thing about Messi is that he depends on his teammates more than Ronaldo.

Messi has no second... Whoever says Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Messi has no idea what they speak of. Most Reál fans hate to acknowledge that Barça is the best at the moment and have the world's best footballer in their squad. But since Barça has been successful against Real Madrid in pretty much all recent 'el clasicos', they tend to shift the competition to individual brilliance. Since there cn never be a head-on duel between Leo and Ronaldo, they just say Ronaldo is better to console themselves. BUT WE ALL KNOW MESSI IS THE BETTER PLAYER, ATLEAST FOR NOW.
