Aren't all these cars all about on the same level?
I know all these newer cars are making around 400 hp but they run around 30,000
I'm thinking of buying a 2001 corvette for around half that price, so will i be able to roll with the new sh1t?

lol. first off please dont street race. and if you do, please do it out in the boonies were you cant hurt others. that said it's like clayton asks. z06 or base level corvette? the c5 z06 is probably the best bang-for the buck car in the used sport/sporty car market. the c5 (base) while certainly powered by a capable engine will have a slightly tougher time with the cars you mentioned. the 5.0 and SS run in the 12's stock. the challanger is low-low 13's in SRT8 trim i believe. that's where about a base-level c5 corvette will run. auto c5's run in the low 13's if i recall correctly. if you're looking at c5's look for a well-maintained c5 z06 and learn to respect it power. other wise you WILL end up hurting your self and maybe others.

It depends on whether or not you get the normal one or the ZO6. If you don't you will be a little slow, but the ZO6 will smoke your competition. But only if you are racing a GT, the stock Camaro, and the SRT8. If you come up to the line with a Shelby or a ZL1 then you better just back away.

dollar 4 dollar the 2001 is a real deal,,so maybe a stock 2001 will not beat the newer cars,,,so what,,
