What is the difference between the following 2 sentences: おきゃくさんとはなしをしています。 おきゃくさんをはなしています。?

Grammatically, the first one is correct.

But, colloquially, the second one is also correct.

There is nothing wrong with the second one.

Colloquially, we also say おきゃくさんとはなして（い）ます。

But, おきゃくさんをはなしています。is wrong.

hm...i'm not an expert, but i think you were trying to say おきやくさんははなしをしています？

- the guest is talking/discussing/arguing/etc.

おきゃくさんとはなしをしています　is "I am speaking to a customer."

and

おきゃくさんをはなしています　is "I am speaking a customer."

おきゃくさんをはなしています　is not used in Japanese,

but maybe that sentence is construed as おきゃくさんのことをはなしています, or "I am speaking of a customer."

And,

おきゃくさんとはなしをしています　and おきゃくさんとはなしています　have same meaning.
