I volunteer at an animal shelter and they can't give all the dogs blankets because they chew them up.?
Is there any blanket out there that is chew proof? It's so sad to see them without the comfort of a blanket.
They have Kurunda beds but no blankets.....it's just so sad.....I was hoping there was something out there. I realize that if some dogs chew them up, it could potentally be a health hazard, not to mention the cost of replacing them.......any ideas AT ALL?

Probably because there bored. Do they have toys to chew on? If they gave them tons of chew toys they wouldn't chew on the blankets. Also you could bring in things to help out.

I don't know of any blanket that is chew proof for a dog.
Dog's have strong jaws, so that's not possible unless you give them a car tarp to sleep on, and that wouldn't be comfortable.
The dogs will chew the blankets up because they have high anxiety, they are cramped up with other dogs, many of them get little or no exercise and most, if not all of them are bored, so they have to find a way to exert their energy some how, so they chew.
Just find them more blankets or give them more blankets to sleep on. It's better to know their warm then to leave them in the cold without anything.
