2007 Toyota Yaris Battery?

Every 4-6 weeks the car will not start unless boosted with jumper cables. Last night it needed boosting then again after driving for half an hour. After driving another half an hour the car remained in the garage overnight. It started well today, several times.

Is it a bad battery, a bad alternator or a short somewhere? Thanks for your help.

If battery has never been replaced probably time to change

your battery. Usually a dead cell will render it useless but

sometimes you will get lucky enough to get a good charge

and you can get enough juice to start

If it ever turns off while you are driving, it is a bad alternator.

If not, then the greatest possible cause of the battery dying is that you are leaving something ON.

A light or radio might stay on somewhere, using up the battery.
