Why do anti-Mormons keep throwing certain specific Bible verses at us?
As if all we have to do is read these verses and we will just curl up and die.
When we have refuted these verses over and over again.
Some of these verses are:
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
We don't preach any gospel but the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is not another gospel, it's another TESTAMENT. Besides, even if it is another gospel and Paul warns against another gospel, then one must choose which of the four GOSPELS in the Bible is the right one.
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
This is warning that man cannot add to the book of Revelation.
Nothing says that God cannot add to His word whenever He wants.
There are other verses, too, that I didn't post here. Even those who say "If Mormons would just read their Bible, they would know they are wrong!".
It was the Bible that initially told me that the LDS church is the Church of Christ. There is nothing in the Bible that tells me the LDS church is wrong. It's all in the interpretation.
So, why can't they GET that?
Moyra: Christianity is a general term for all followers of Jesus Christ. Since we are followers of Jesus Christ, then we are, by definition, CHRISTians.
Rick: If you read the rest of the book of Galatians, what you see is the explanation and it has nothing to do with Moroni or the Book of Mormon. It has to do with the apostles thinking that Gentile converts to Christ had to first become Jews, thru "the gospel of circumcision". THAT was the other gospel he was talking about. Like I said, we preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All of our scriptures preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, now, I have refuted the anti-Mormon spin on that verse.
Gazoo: Just tired is all. It's like someone telling you, No, 2+2 does NOT equal 5, yet, you continue to insist that 2+2=5.
sellshor...: 1. SPIRIT brothers, just as all of us are spirit brothers and sisters, sharing a Heavenly Father. 2. GOD added those books, not us. 3. Yes, there is only ONE God. We are not polytheists. 4. Actually

I have several friends who are Mormon and I respectfuly disagree with the following:
1) Jesus Christ and Lucifier are not brothers
2) The Book of Mormon, DNC and Pearl Of Great Price, my friend you are adding to the scriptures and God prohibits it.
3) The Polytheistic approach of Mormonism-The Bible is clear there is only One God
4) God the Father is an exalted-as he once was we can become, what Bible are you reading.
5) God the father has a wife-No! God has been God and will be God for all eternity
Mormons are worshiping a different Jesus

Because the only thing new they have come up with in 180 years is the supposed DNA evidence against the Book of Mormon.
Other than that they are using the exact same arguments that was used in Joseph Smiths day.
Oh and they are just as far behind on archaeological evidence.

It is ironic that they like to quote Galations, yet they can't tell you exactly what it was Paul preached to the Galations. Why can't they tell you this? Because we have no record of what was preached to them - if there were any records of Paul's preaching, we don't have it. We can guess Paul preached the basics - repent, have faith in Christ, get baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, love one another, do as Jesus did etc. Surprise, surprise! This is exactly what the Mormons preach!
Are there things Mormons preach that Paul did not preach to the Galations? We don't know for sure because, as I said, we do not have any record of what was preached to them, we don't know what was preached to them.
Revelation - anyone that quotes Revelation 22:18 is simply displaying their ignorance of the Bible and Christianity in general. 1) John wrote Revelation before his gospel or epistle, so why don't we throw those out of the Bible? 2) The Bible did not exist when John wrote Revelation, and there is not one shred of evidence that his warning applies to anything but the manuscripts that Revelation came from. 3) It was common to introduce errors and changes when copying manuscripts in those days, and it is most likely his warning was applied to those that would make copies of his manuscripts - in effect John was telling them get it right and don't make any changes. 4) The manuscripts that the bible came from have been changed many times, and in some cases the changes were significant. Maybe we should just throw them all out, since we don't have anything that is remotely close to the originals. We only have copies of copies of copies of copies of copies of copies of some long lost manuscripts that has been lost for centuries.
In short, they don't get it because 1) they tend to be pretty ignorant of the history of the Bible and Christianity in general and 2) Most of them just listen to their Pastor or read anti-Mormon websites and don't bother to do their own research and think for themselves.

Revelation 22:18-19,
God's warning was that the Revelation was intended to be heard and obeyed [v7,13] and not tampered with, people who added to or deleted from it would face God's punishment.

Galations seems pretty self explanatory. And don't think you have refuted properly the Galations verse.

Because its hard to teach an idiot what a lunatic thinks he knows. And a lunatic should never beleive what an idiot has to say. It's the same as two people with turett's syndrome arguing over who can say bullshit the loudest.

The bible did not tell you that the LSD was the Church of Christ. that is a lie. Christianity is what God wants people to follow through His son Jesus, not some man made religion which leads to destruction. God created Christianity. It is not a man made religion. all others are.

Because they are not smart... They allways throw those verses out when its so easy to disprove them especially with that book of revelation verse
