New Computer build no Signal to tv/monitor?
New Computer build no Signal to tv/monitor?
So I purchased parts back on Black Friday to make a new htpc.
Had a lot of hiccups on the way, in summary I received a new motherboard, cpu, and power supply through rma (power supply was for sure dead, cpu and mobo were hit and miss guess and replaced)
Heres the scenario, The Cpu is an AMD A4-3300 LLano, the one with built in gpu inside the cpu.
Thus I don't have a graphics card, cpu is brand new so i doubt the gpu within is the video graphic fault.
Cpu: AMD A4-3300 LLano (Built on gpu)
Motherboard is Msi A75A – G55
Power supply is a Corsair CX 430W, plenty of juice and this new one is working fine.
My Storage space is an OCZ Vertex 50gb ssd.
I'm sure all the cables are in fine, i really can't figure out why this wont work.
Ram should be fine, Patriot G Series Sector 5 8GB DDR3 1600 1.65v.
I've taken them both out, and do get a long beep code tellin me no ram installed.
Removing them seperatly and testing, With both and one in I get a single beep, im strongly assuming that means successful?
I'm at ends with this as its been long over a month, hit or miss should I rma the ram to be safe, other opinions?
Finally, I am using HDMI connection not vga or dvi, and it is going into a TV. TV works fine as hooking up a ps3 through hdmi connects flawlessly.
@ Lee, Yeah no signal with trying the ram combinations, I strongly doubt it would be the cpu's gpu since this is the 2nd one and before that I also received no signal on the first. Nonetheless there is still the probability it is.
Maybe it is the HDMI cable, ill try dvi or something now and edit back.
@Lee Lee I'm loving you man, vga connection worked.
I want to kiss you right now because its been so long and I can't believe hdmi connection was the reason.

Removing the RAM and adding each one one at a time wouldn't give you a signal? Maybe it IS the the gpu in the cpu. Or maybe your computer doesnt have hdmi drivers installed yet. Try using a VGA or DVI cable first.

I think Lee has the right idea, I bet you don't have a driver for HDMI yet. If you have another computer that you could borrow parts from you could probably get the thing running and then run it only on the TV. Sounds like you are making a media server to play movies on your TV, if that's the case you may have some luck using a linux boot disk to at least see if you get a signal on the TV or even run the computer off of linux. Good luck.
