Book releases for Kindle?

I know it probably varies by series, but I doubt anyone would know for the specific series I'm curious specifically about. Anyways, do books usually come out for Kindle the same day they do in hardcover? If they do, are they available at midnight?

Thanks for any help! (p.s. the specific seres is the Dresden Files, if anyone would happen to know for sure for the series)

    They typically do if the author has previously published in Kindle format (at midnight for your timezone). The Dresden Files do too.
