How does (or should) society measure success?

To elaborate should we measure it by material wealth, income or social standing. May be a combination of criteria? Is a person who inherited wealth as successful as a doctor, or somebody in a poorly paid job that is considered by society as making an important contribution?

What are your thoughts?

How does society measure success? Well that depends on the society.

Where I'm from success is to be able to spend much time with the family. In America it seems to be to work as much as you can to make as much money as you can. Family comes second or even third. Some societies value education while others simply struggle for basic survival.

    How 'should' society measure success?

Success should be about having a job that pays enough for you to live a fairly good life and still have time for family and friends. It should be about the quality of your life and not about how much you earn, have in the bank or how much you know.

Government is a man made system which is used to control the mind body and soul

    Govern-means to control

    Mente (Spanish) or ment-means minds

    Government-control minds

Success is whatever you want it to be

The creator of this universe put us here for a reason ..I doubt it was to follow government ways of living...it's really institutionalized

Honest work is honorable work. You are on the wrong path if you are concerned about the opinions of others.Your opinion is the only one that matters and perhaps that of your mate.
