Sex in religious view?

I'm just wondering, come to think of it, human knowledge of sex (ex. "what to do in your wedding night.") is not exactly something you learn, especially in uptight society. You just know about it instinctively. Is there any religious basis on this? If you can explain it with scientific reasons too, that would be great. Thanks.

I will speak of Christianity since that is what I know most about. Sex is instinctual, religion has it's take on it, especially Christianity; but, I don't think it offers much explanation about why it is instinctual. It does try to offer a mystical revelation about sex in the ritual of marriage. Unfortunately, it is hidden in a prudish way unless you go searching for it. Sex can be an act that is quite divine in the godly sense. It is a union of opposites, a union of what is considered self and what is considered other than the self. It can be a lesson on the true nature of opposites.

The first clue is one you said yourself: "in an uptight society". The US has one of the most uptight, restrictive attitudes towards anything relating to sex. The second clue is that unless a person is well exposed to other cultures, they tend to assume that their culture is the norm.

A different way to look at this is that every culture that has ever existed has had varying approaches to sex and our "traditional marriage" (one man, one woman) is only practiced by less than 17% of the world's cultures and "marrying for love" has only started to be a common practice in the last 200 years.

Historically speaking, children would have grown up "sleeping" near their parents having sex - you probably think this is gross. But until relatively recently most people lived in caves, tents, one or tow room houses and basically did not have a huge amount of privacy.

toddlers are a blessing from God, the two male or woman. If intercourse (gender) decision calls for the homicide of the undesirable toddlers ex-vitro (no longer interior the womb; i.e. a attempt tube infant) then maximum Christian faiths could be against it. i.e. as long because of the fact the call technique would desire to be performed ahead of egg and sperm transforming into a member of (concept) whilst it is meddling with organic strategies, I doubt there could be serious objection.

Well reproduction is an instinctive thing, just like eating is. Without it out species would go extinct after all.

You just need someone like me to teach you how to do it well.

I think just about everyone except evangelical Christians and ultra-Orthodox Jews understand how sex works these days.

If it wasn't instinctive then no animal on this planet would have made it beyond one generation.
