How can the Titans make the playoffs...?

Question

I don't understand how they can be in the hunt still. They are 8-7, but the Bengals are 9-6, meaning that with a Bengal loss and Titan win both teams would be 9-7. But the Bengals beat them in Nashville this year, so I don't see any possible way in which the Titans can make it into the playoffs/ Anyone care to shed some light?

But if all those things happened, wouldn't the Bengals still make the playoffs, since they and the Titans would be 9-7 but the Bengals would have the tiebreaker?

they , tenn. need more than just the bengals to lose, they need for it to come down to a 3 way tie between cin.and oak and have the jets win , then they have to go to instead of head to head, they have to go to common games they played  the better record against those teams will decide who goes in the final 6th spot.in other words it will be dificult for the titans to make the playoffs, also dificult for the raiders to make it, but it is easy for cin. to make it because all they have to do is win. the jets need a lot of things to fall into place, the broncos have to win, the raiders have to win and broncos lose, then they are in for sure.

Cleveland has already performed all of their convention video games, and that they finished at 7-5. So the Titans would desire to conquer the Colts to tie Cleveland with 7-5 convention information. In order for that to happen, though, plenty more than a Tennessee victory needs to take place Sunday, with the Titans also requiring Baltimore to defeat Cincinnati. Then a victory by the New York Jets coupled with a loss by either Oakland or Denver, or a loss by the Jets paired with victories by Oakland and Denver would give Tennessee the last wild card.

They need the Bengals to lose and (Raiders OR Broncos to lose), and they need to win.

The Titans own the tie breaker with the Bengals because they have a better conference record...If they were to win and the Bengals lose.
