Why is it so hard for evolutionists to accept evidence which calls into question many aspects of their theory?

The central axiom of evolution is that natural selection acts upon mutations to provide the genetic mechanism for common descent.

John Sanford-retired geneticist-Cornell University says-

"Mutations are word-processing errors in the cell’s instruction manual. Mutations systematically destroy genetic information—even as word processing errors destroy written information. While there are some rare beneficial mutations (even as there are rare beneficial misspellings), bad mutations outnumber them—perhaps by a million to one. So even allowing for beneficial mutations, the net effect of mutation is overwhelmingly deleterious. The more the mutations, the less the information. This is fundamental to the mutation process.’

Because everyone tries to defend their world view.

Natural selection helps to remove harmful errors and preserve beneficial ones. However because the harmful mutations vastly outweigh the beneficial ones the net effect is downwards. For the few beneficial mutations the selection coefficient is generally so low, and the cost of substitution so high, that the time for them to become fixed in the population is incredibly long. Even 6 million years is not enough to convert an ape into a man. (Haldane's Dilemma [1])

It remains easier to slip back down Mount Improbable than it is to climb it.

I for my part don't consider Dawkins refuses to discuss creationists, he has written many books explaining why creationists is "a preposterous, brain-shrinking falsehood." He has been criticized through devout pupils and has answered. I consider you will have to learn plenty extra approximately him earlier than you move on approximately him. Evolution has now not been utterly established on account that this is a concept, and like any concept not anything is actually truth however best supported or now not supported. There is plenty of proof that helps that individuals are involving apes, possibly now not instantly however there's proof helping that we would be family. Scientist are one of the vital first to confess whilst the proof they uncover does now not help their concept however the proof they uncover can be utilized to help an additional concept or open their eyes to different solutions. I am now not a biologist, I majored in Anthropology and feature long gone on many, Archaeology, digs and I can not believe the concept of Creationism whilst there was no proof learned to help this. I suppose in theories with a few variety of proof, no proof way no evidence simply an concept. I have no idea any Evolutionist, devout or now not, which might be scared of God in the event that they suppose or now not. The best time Creationism/Intelligent Design will have to be introduced up in colleges is in philosophy or faith magnificence. Creationism will have to now not gain knowledge of in any clinical magnificence ever, on account that there's not anything to help the concept.

For the same reason people are loyal to individuals like Hitler, Jim Jones, Barack Hussein Obama and Ron Paul. They don't want to see the flaws in their belief system.
