Is anyone else really annoyed by Katniss?

Question

From the Hunger Games of course. I was talking to my friends about this, and I was wondering about other people's opinions on the matter.

Katniss was fine in the first book, but after that she just started to get on my nerves. She leads Gale and Peeta on without ever making an actual decision about who she wants to be with (the whole being mad at Gale because someone else employing a tactic he thought up was a total cop out to end the pointless love triangle), she's mean to almost everyone and it's apparently okay because she's had a hard life even though almost everyone else she meets has had it just as bad as her, she keeps having breakdowns . . .

She's probably my least favorite character out of the entire series. What'd you think about her character?

I agree to an extent... because honestly I thought she went crazy by the end of the third book!!! I also think the whole leading both Gale and Peeta on is super annoying. If I was Peeta, I would've let them keep the tracker jacker venom in my memories of her. She was so mean to him I feel bad. 
I love you Peeta. Just kidding! I like Gale! But if you wait 5 seconds I'll like you again!!!
Its like make up your MIND already! But I have to give it to Suzanne Collins because not every character is likeable. Everyone has flaws and makes mistakes. Katniss isn't your regular girl who has a ton of friends and at sleep overs gossips with them about who she likes! Shes a tough, kinda selfish, persistent and sassy girl who knows what she wants... freedom. So I like that she wasn't the mediocre main character props to the author. But overall she did get on my nerves toward the end.

The thing about Katniss is that she was created to embody a strong-willed, independent girl. Though she isn't a Bella Swan, Katniss is a downright b*tch. I agree with you that she led both Gale and Peeta on, not to mention how much she judges people. And her life is pretty good compared to the lives of others in the book, but she still mopes and moans about her sad little life. I was actually pretty disappointed that she didn't die. And what kind of a name is Katniss? Sounds like kat-piss.

Haha, yeah, I agree with you. I think she was pretty annoying after the first book, and in the third one she was just kind of a spoiled and pompous kid. The books turned from action to romance... which isn't exactly as interesting. So yes, to answer your question, I am annoyed by Katniss.

I get your point. Seriously. But still, something about her anything to survive attitude and the ways she protects the underdog (Rue, Prim) makes me like her. Just my opinion.
