Why does the world feel its the USA's responsibility to save them when a disaster strikes?

it seems the world demands a bit more than it deserves from he USA. When some third world pi$$ pot gets knocked down by an earthquake then washed into the sea by a Tsunami, where do they get off thinking it's the USA's job to make it all better?

I read the vitriolic hatred from the third world here on YA almost every day, you call us vile things and yet, there you stand with outstretched arms, wearing Bin Laden tee-shirts, every time your country fails you.

I'm starting a campaign to stop aide to countries that spit on us at every chance then take our money when their sh*thole falls down.

it's time these countries begin to die off, it's the natural order, the strong survive and the weak decline. I'm sure you'll understand.

Update:

Hello Skyrich!

Eloquent as always, Happy New year to you and yours!!!!!

    Dude,

    It's simple:

1/ We've always done it in the past. This sets up the expectation.

2/ We're considered a wealthy country, and most people around the world feel that you only get wealthy by ripping off everyone else, so once again, it's an expectation that somehow we *owe* it to the rest of the world.

Personally, I partially agree with you. I think it's utterly disgusting for someone to spit on us, then expect us to help them. Having said that, I try to live by a code of ethics and morals that includes charity. I figure the people who spit on us then turn around and demand our help will eventually get their just rewards.

Yet another fan of social Darwinism. What do we do with the forty something countries that offered assistance after Hurricane Katrina or the members of NATO we assisted us after the 9/11 attacks? We help them and they help us, that's the natural order of things.

We don't!!! I have no idea what your media are telling you, but having once seen a Fox "news" broadcast, I today feel great sadness for the 300+million humans so ill-informed about world events. Yesterday, I actually learned of a war that the USA wasn't involved in: I couldn't believe my ears! Perhaps the USA is in all these wars because they are profitable for Lockheed Martin!

Because other countries think we're rich. Plus we've been generous in the past so its kind of just expected now. And other countries know how high/strong security and military is here

It's because America always acts as if everything that goes on is America's business so everyone is used to America getting into everything.

Because we've always had the money and drive to do it.

Now that we don't, things will change.
