Is my 2 year old guinea pig sow okay?
I'm not sure if my guinea pig Jeanette is okay or not. She was raised with my other guinea pig Polychromia, and until now (we bought Jeanette her own cage) they shared a cage. Polly has been nibbling at Jeanette's ears, mostly one ear, and now the one is just a bloody stump and the other is half the normal size. They are both sows and 2 years old. Jeanette nibbles on Polly's ears too, but Polly's ears are pretty much normal besides a few nicks. Jeanette is much smaller than Polychromia and she only moves a little, she is weak and thin and her coat is dull and there used to be patches of hair loss. Polly has always been the dominant pig, being much bigger and sometimes Polly pushes Jeanette away. Jeanette now has her own cage, water bowl, and food bowl. Jeanette and Polly were very close, and they have been seen snuggling. Is Jeanette going to be okay? I would be devastated if she died.

If she's eating, that's a good sign. I'd get her some Critical Care or a similar product. If she's not eating, she needs medical attention. Also, yeah, check for infection and keep the ear clean. She should be ok with losing Polly, just give both lots of (separate) love.

while you're no longer watching for to have them mate dont tempt mom nature. there isn't any longer something which would be finished to over come the powers of her. Breeding a guinea pig too youthful or too previous is quite risky and you finally end up with a extensive vet bill and frequently unfastened the mummy besides as they are very fragil and don't do properly in surgical technique.it is not a convention to neuter guinea pig's because of the fact of that reason. Is she obese or is she already going to have a muddle? If she is in deed obese basically enhance the quantity of vegetables, carrots and end result which you supply her and decrease down the pellets, yet no longer for an exceedingly long term as you do no longer prefer her to alter into malnourished. She could drop weight rapidly in case you are trying this, if no longer please take her to a vet as she would have a mass or something going incorrect together with her digestive equipment that has it swollen so she seems large. stable success

Jeanette's probably got some sort of infection, which is probably due to the fact that you let the other guinea pig CHEW HER EAR TO A STUMP.
