USCIS _ I 765 work employment authorization?
Hello - It's been 2 months since I submitted the I 765 application to USCIS and if I track it using my receipt number, it is still in the "initial review" stage. I know the average in 3 months and I am getting concerned that there is something wrong.
On the website it says they do fraud detection background tests... But does anyone know what exactly the background tests do?
MY QUESTION IS : WHAT DO THEY DO FOR BACKGROUND TESTS.
None of you answered that.
@ brother... well, so noone knows? There has to be a right to information act or something . After all it is MY application and my background that is being checked.

as you say, 3 months is average, but that just means that some go faster and some go longer. and, why are you concerned about fraud detection?

ok, first of all, Social protection administration isn't the situation you're able to desire to call. To be truthful, it is ineffective to call everywhere with regard to the EAD. yet you have no longer something to be traumatic approximately as long as you're approved. Wait couple of weeks, you're able to get an approval letter first and than, your card. now and lower back they arrive jointly. yet do no longer have confidence interior the web status ingredient, from time to time it confirmed the "card production" status, whilst the applying became actually denied. So, you stable.

The I-765 has to be based on something. You would either be a K-1 or have submitted an AoS petition (I-130 + I-485 + I-864, etc.).
Your waiting time is within the "normal" range. Background checks are performed by the FBI, and they scan about every database you know of and also those you don't even know exist. Nobody knows, except people with high security clearance, and those won't tell.

The section of law that you're applying under can affect processing time if you've filed the I-765 with other documents in a combo/all-in-one type situation or the principle application has hit a snag where it may not be processed any further.
If this is your initial EAD filed with another application then the EAD will not be processed until you get initial acceptance of the primary application.
The most common example would be the I-485/131/765 combo. Your I-765 and I-131 will not be processed until your I-485 is "received" and initial checks find it complete and/or prima facie approvable because the I131/765 are based on the presumption that your I-485 is still validly pending.
If it's a frivolous I-485 based on nothing or you're in removal proceedings, you won't get the I-512 until that's resolved.
EDIT: The information you want to know (the background sources and information) is not available. Anyone who answers correctly could only be an employee of USCIS and you're not worth their career.

It is holiday time, things take longer.
there really is no set time on how long it will take, but as you said, "average is three months" . enjoy the holidays and don't start being concerned until it's past 3.5 months
