Should I just stop answering?

This has been bothering me for awhile now. I try to answer questions or provide opinions within the parenting section (when the question asks for an opinion) the best I can. I often re-read my reply, edit, add detail, try to find authoritative articles, etc to support my answer. But I always seem to get pounded by TD's immediately, I hardly ever get BA within this category, and I even rude emails telling me to "mind my own business". WTH?

I need Honest feedback. (harsh is OK too). What am I doing wrong??? Are my answers really that bad? Are my replies offensive? Obnoxious? Over-opinionated? What can I do to make my answers better, and more worthy of someone's vote? I really want to do better, but I'm at a loss as to how I can.

Can someone help me? Pretty please?

As far as PVT settings, i'm not so concerned about stalkers. In all my time on YA, i've had 17 reported answers - and 13 successful appeals. I don't break rules, troll, or cheat. So I have nothing to worry about in that respect. BTW: Y!AT is seriously considering removing TU/TD as an option anyway. The new rating system will hopefully reveal itself over the next few weeks. I can't say much about it other then the TD trolls will not be happy with the new enhancements. :)

Maybe I do take things to heart too much. But how can I not when i spend 9-14 hours a day on YA. It's like my passion. I'm not answering Q&A's all the time, I do other things. But still. I miss my TC badges. :(

    people in this section TD you and report you like crazy ...believe me I know it happens to me

    just don't take it to heart, ....laugh it off.

    keep answering don't let the Yahooer's discourage you.

    Don't obsess over the thumbs down anymore than you pride yourself in the thumbs up that you receive. Don't quit answering if you don't want to. You aren't going to change people minds, so don't let it get to you. Just do your thing.

    LOL girl I got 3 TD's for saying my parents have been married for 33 years. There are some bitter people on here who feel better taking it all out on random strangers online and abusing the TD option- probably only control they have in life. Don't take it to heart. Best answer is in the eyes of the asker. Seriously CHILL.

    It's t'internet, it's to be expected. Does it really bother you if you don't get Best Answer? If so, there's probably something lacking in your life.

    I can't tell why. But lemme' teach you something. By going on the internet you are prone to trolls. If you can't handle what is said about you or your answers then don't go on the internet.

    As long as you are honest you should keep answering. If people get mad, oh well. You can answer my question. But I'm telling you, keep answering

    Edit - from what i can see of your anwsers, i cant see why you are getting that kind of reponse. Sometimes, you do sound a bit too direct, and over bearing (sorry to say) but you shouldnt be treated like that. Your anwsers are good ones.

    Keep anwsering, if they gej upset so be it. At least you know that u r trying to help. That is the main thing
