there is a lot of nothing, it is because we live in the something that we can say that. if we were in the nothing we would be nothing so you could say we are in nothing because its not there, get it?

Are you saying your god was created from nothing, or was your god created from the human mind?

In the end..it always boils down to this
Nothing comes from Nothing
or something cannot come from nothing
nothing can't make a something
something can't invent from nothing
and nothing was there before something

Why would there need to be a god for there to be "something"?

In short, because there has to be.
From a scientific point of view, nothingness is a very unstable state in our universe to the point that "nothing" doesn't exist in our universe. Every time a state of nothing shows up, they are filled by particle pairs in accordance with Quantum Mechanics.
From a common sense point of view, if there was nothing, then we wouldn't be around to ask the question. Thus the fact that you are around to ask the question proves that there must be something rather than nothing, even if we didn't know why there was something instead of nothing.
There is nothing supernatural about the existence of something instead of nothing.
