JESUS has learned that his good friend Lazarus is very sick. A messenger from Mary and Martha, sisters of Lazarus, has brought Jesus the news. The messenger came from Bethany, where Lazarus and his sisters live. The sisters believe that Jesus can heal their brother, even though they live far away on the other side of the Jordan River. They know that he has healed people from a distance before.—Matthew 8:5-13; John 11:1-3.

When the messenger reaches Jesus and tells him the sad news, Jesus doesn’t do anything about it. The Bible says: “He actually remained two days in the place where he was.” (John 11:6) Do you know why Jesus does not hurry to help Lazarus?— Let us talk about this.

Jesus knows that Lazarus has died from his sickness. Therefore, he tells his apostles: “Let us go into Judea again.” They object: “Just lately the Judeans were seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?” Jesus explains: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.”

“Lord, if he has gone to rest,” the apostles reply, “he will get well.” Now Jesus explains: “Lazarus has died.” Then he says something that must have surprised them: “I rejoice on your account that I was not there . . . But let us go to him.”

Thomas speaks up courageously: ‘Let us go that we may die with Jesus.’ Thomas knows that enemies will again try to kill Jesus, and the apostles may be killed too. But they all go anyway. After two days or so, they arrive in Bethany, Lazarus’ hometown. It is about two miles from Jerusalem.—John 11:7-18.

Do you know why Jesus is glad that he did not arrive earlier?— Well, Jesus had resurrected other people before, but those individuals had been dead only a few hours when Jesus brought them back to life. (Luke 7:11-17, 22; 8:49-56) Lazarus’ body, though, has been in the tomb for days. No one can question that he really is dead!

When Lazarus’ sister Martha hears that Jesus is near Bethany, she runs out to meet him. “Lord, if you had been here my brother would not have died,” she says. “Your brother will rise,” Jesus assures her. Martha runs back and in secret tells her sister, Mary: “The Teacher is present and is calling you.”

Mary leaves right away to go to Jesus. The crowd, though, think that she is going to the tomb, so they follow. When Jesus sees Mary and the crowd with her weeping, he too gives way “to tears.” Soon they all arrive at the tomb, which is sealed with a big stone. Jesus commands: “Take the stone away.” But Martha objects, saying: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”

The people obey Jesus and remove the stone. Then he prays, thanking God in advance for the power he knows God will give him to resurrect Lazarus. Jesus cries out “with a loud voice: ‘Lazarus, come on out!’” And Lazarus walks out, “bound with wrappings.” So Jesus commands: “Loose him and let him go.”—John 11:19-44.

Can you understand now why Jesus did not hurry?— He knew that by waiting he could give a better witness about his Father, Jehovah. And because he chose the best time, many became believers in God. (John 11:45).

Was it God’s original purpose for people to die? Not at all! Jehovah made man to live forever on earth. As we learned earlier in this book, God placed the first human couple in a delightful paradise. He blessed them with perfect health. Jehovah wanted only good for them. Does any loving parent want his children to suffer the pain of old age and death? Of course not! Jehovah loved his children and wanted them to enjoy endless happiness on earth. Concerning humans, the Bible says: “Time indefinite [Jehovah] has put in their heart.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) God created us with the desire to live forever. And he has opened the way for that desire to be fulfilled

Included in the verses you cited, was Jesus' words: 'I am the life and resurrection, everyone who believes in me will live even if he dies.' ( John 11:25)

By resurrecting Lazarus, and many others (e.g. son of the widow of Nain) Jesus demonstrated what he will do when he rules as king over the earth. (Psalm 1:7,8)

    Grace unto you, and peace,

from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

In John 20:27 Jesus demonstrated he had a "side" effect,

because in John 5:29 resurrection is a "grave" subject,

which is to say it's a law subject, not a grace subject.

Grace, eternal life thereof, is not a grave subject.

So in Hebrews 6 we "leave" resurrection of the dead

to "go on unto perfection" has no dead to resurrect.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

He didn't, it was just a story written by men who were told a story of something that supposedly their time. You know like a fairy tail.

In those days resurrections were understood to be rare events attained by very significant people. Jesus wasn't the only one believed to have risen from the dead nor was he the only figure to be deified.

    Better yet, read this:

    As Buddhists...

We don’t believe in a god because we believe in man. We believe that each human being is precious and important, that all have the potential to develop into a Buddha – a perfected human being. We believe that human beings can outgrow ignorance and irrationality and see things as they really are. We believe that hatred, anger, spite and jealousy can be replaced by love, patience, generosity and kindness. We believe that all this is within the grasp of each person if they make the effort, guided and supported by fellow Buddhists and inspired by the example of the Buddha.

Morality in Buddhism is essentially practical in that it is only a means leading to the final goal of ultimate happiness. On the Buddhist path to Emancipation, each individual is considered responsible for his own fortunes and misfortunes. Each individual is expected to work his own deliverance by his understanding and effort. Buddhist salvation is the result of one's own moral development and can neither be imposed nor granted to one by some external agent. The Buddha's mission was to enlighten men as to the nature of existence and to advise them how best to act for their own happiness and for the benefit of others. Consequently, Buddhist ethics are not founded on any commandments which men are compelled to follow. The Buddha advised men on the conditions which were most wholesome and conducive to long term benefit for self and others. Rather than addressing sinners with such words as 'shameful', 'wicked', 'wretched', 'unworthy', and 'blasphemous' He would merely say, 'You are unwise in acting in such a way since this will bring sorrow upon yourselves and others.'

In the Kalama Sutra, Buddha says.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it..

Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.

Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.

Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.

Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Jesus and the Father God and the Holy Spirit are three different offices but they are one God.

Bible Verse on there is only one God:

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 NIV)

"yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live." (1 Corinthians 8:6 NIV)

"You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder." (James 2:19 NIV)

"yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live." (1 Corinthians 8:6 NIV)

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." (1 John 5:7 - 8)

"one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:6 NIV)

Jesus can raise the dead to life. With God, all things are possible. The Bible states that there are two raptures. The first rapture will take place before the 7 years of tribulation and the second rapture will take place after the 7 years of tribulation. When the rapture takes place, all of Jesus' faithful followers will be caught up. The bodies of the dead will rise from their graves and unite with their souls. For those that are alive, they will disappear into the air along with their bodies and meet Jesus in heaven.

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." (1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 17 NIV)

Resurrection with Jesus symbolically means you have been made a new creation in Christ. When you are baptized, you are dip into the water for a while. This means you are buried with Jesus in death. It means that your old self has died and nailed with Christ on the cross. Your old self is the old way of life you used to live such as bad habits and other sins. As a Christian, you must get rid of your old habit and start living your life for Jesus so that you can be a new creation in Christ.

Jesus and the Father God and the Holy Spirit are one. They work together so they cannot do anything without each other. Jesus is the mediator and he intercedes for us to the Father on our behalf. The Holy Spirit is the Counselor. They are actually one God.

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you" (John14:16 -17 NIV)
