Is everyone seriously stupid?

I don't mean to sound like some self-righteous prick, but yahoo answers has opened me up to the dumbest of the dumb. Part of society I didn't know existed. I answer a lot of fish questions and a lot of people ask things like "Why is my goldfish sick, I put it in half a cup of water and changed it 4 weeks ago". I tell them that even the smallest goldfish actually get 8 inches long and need a much larger tank, and they think it is illogical. They truly believe that a half cup of water is a good home for a goldfish. How do you fathom that? Or take for example the person who asks a question about their friend. Something along the lines of "What is my friend going to do when I tell him that I broke his stereo" was one I recently heard. How would anyone know you idiot? Are we your friend?? For a while I just assumed "oh that's just a kid" or "oh this is just one of those 1/100 people that is brain dead, but lately I am losing faith in human kind. There are so many questions that are flat out moronic, and when I try and spread some knowledge on these people, they come back with arguments that are so far-fetched all I can do is face-palm

    No all are stupid, but a heck of a lot are. Don't even bother to try and enlighten them, they really don't want the truth, or can't handle it. Just answer the reasonable questions.

    Go ahead and lose faith in humanity. I'll wait. You done yet? Okay smart guy, what's your next step? Yeah, that's the same conclusion I came to. Some people are really smart and some people are incredibly stupid. All you can do is try to enlighten them. I've traveled the world while in the Navy and I've seen people do some pretty stupid stuff. If you aren't a total moron you basically have two choices you can make... keep your knowledge to yourself or use it to try to better a handful of people. Either way, I don't care because I'm already convinced the stupid people will die off in the zombie apocalypse. By that I mean whatever giant disaster we're going to have to face. Could be bird flu, could be nuclear war. Either way, the morons who don't know how to purify water will die off and we'll be left with people who are capable of thinking for themselves. Try not to raise your blood pressure too much worrying about what other people are doing. As my husband puts it... children who eat marbles don't grow up to have children who eat marbles.

    Why such a rude conclusion? Do you know the rural formula of STUPID? OK:

    S= Stamina loss

    T= Trustless

    U= Utopian

    P= Penny wise pound foolish

    I = Indecisive

    D = Destructive

    well i wouldnt expect much from yahoo answers forum, if you are suprised at the level of intelligence that is displayed on a forum that has no real guidelines for substance and allows people to spew any type of question their mind can fathom, then, in a way that makes you stupid... well not really but you see what im trying to say... dont expect much from an anwer forum such as this and most people who have intelligent questions dont expect them to be anwered online anyway.... :)
