Recommend any interesting/attractive areas of Queens NY to visit?

We'd like to explore Queens some, by accessing via Subway or bus from Manhattan. Can you recommend any nice Queens neighborhoods or areas for a quick day visit? Have explored Brooklyn, would like to check Queens out next

    * Flushing (Queens' Chinatown)

    * Jackson Heights (Indian and Columbian neighborhood)

    * Astoria (Greek neighborhood)

    You can take the (E), (F), (M), (R), or (7) to Jackson Heights, then take take the (7) to Flushing, and then take the Q19 bus to Astoria.

    I hope this information was very helpful.

    Check out Austin Street in Forest Hills (the F train to 71st/Continental Ave.). One of the few strips in Queens that is compatible to the hipper areas of Brooklyn. Lots of shopping, bars and indoor/outdoor cafes and restaurants (many ethnic). Great to visit day or night with tons of Manhattan-like foot traffic during most days. You'll also be a hop skip away from Queens Blvd where you'll find a bunch of shopping malls (head west on foot or take the local R train one or two stops to Rego Park and Elmhurst).

    Astoria is also great with lots of shopping, mainly on Steinway Street, and most of the neighborhood is full of Greek and other ethnic cuisines. Great nightlife with lots of dance clubs and bars.

    If it's summer you can catch a Mets game at Citifield.
