What could cause a popping noise in the front end of my car when I turn?

It happens when I turn hard left and right, but seems to be only when I accelerate. If I am slow enough or not accelerating, it doesn't pop.

Also, I think this is related; when I am on the highway, the car started to shake more than it used to. It happens when I get to about 65-70 MPH. I thought it was just resonance, but I used to be able to go 80 no problem. It seems my car strains sometimes to get up to speed. Could this be related to the front axle?

Update:

Sorry, that would be helpful information. I have a 1995 Honda Accord with front wheel drive. It has a 6 cylinder so I don't think I will be doing any of that drag racing. ;)

Yes definitely sounds like a CV joint you can buy recon/ rebuild kits from a good motor factor.

Check if the CV boot/ gator is intact and there hasn't been any grease lost.

If that's a no then jack up the front end and check for play in the wheel,

If there is then go around each part - Ball joint, Track rod end.

check for play whilst having a few fingers on the part and if that's the part that's faulty you will feel it.

if there is no play in them then the play is coming form the wheel bearing.

When at speed if the shaking happens when you brake then this could indicate a warped break disk

    Id say CV joint thow.

I dont know how it works it the USA but in the uk a car would fail its MOT (inspection) with faulty parts like this

It is common knowledge that if you hit a small child or a porn star that the car will begin to shake a bit. I suggest you google how to clean it up so that you can fix this problem. If you look, and don't find the body sometimes your radiator will suck it up, sadly if this happens it will either lodge in your turbo if you have one and continue to spin resulting in a turbo leak so before you go drag racing a honda civic you might want to fix this. If it is not in your turbo it will be in cylinder 1 or 3.

The clicking is most likely the CV joints are bad. The rubber seal holds grease to keep them lubed. Over time, the boot will fail and the grease will come out. You can buy new boots and grease but it usually doesn't cost much more to just get new/refurbished CV joints.

It would be extremely helpful to know what kind of vehicle you're driving. Depending on what it is, the possibilities can vary.

Could be damaged steering gear, damaged ball joints, idler arms, tie rods, CV joint, etc.
