my pc reconizes the two dvd drives but wont read either of them?
in bios my pc "sees" my two ide dvd drives but will not boot disc from either one of them
windows also sees them but wont read them
(I installed windows using a sata drive)
i set the boot Order correctly
i have tried both cable select and master/slave
the mother board is a msi 870a-g54
the drives are dh-16w1p12c for model
i have 16 gb of 1600 gskill ram
processor is a phenomenon x6 1090t
I have treid sereral different drives and cables in this set up with no results
the dvd drives tried are known to be good

You've set the boot order to the DVD drives first, then the hard drives?
Are you sure the DVD drives work? DVD drives die so often that I've wondered if I have connected and configured things correctly only to find out the drive is bad. I replaced with a working one and voila! it works.
