I think the department of agriculture needs to do a better job of promoting agriculture and what it does for us. For too long I have seen PETA and its stupid slogans and practices go on without a hitch. Nowadays, people just dont understand what agriculture is and what it does for the community. They just hear the word cattle farm and think that those animals are being mistreated just because they are going to be meat, where they are going to be mistreated there. its not true in the slightest. and the DofAg, needs to do something about it. It needs to promote good, humane, safe, and high quality foods, products, and services to the public, and offer education to the youth on a much more national scale than they do now... they are just too quiet. They need to promote the Future Farmers of America more, with more incentives for youth.
