    Testicles produce sperm and the hormone testosterone. Sperm grows at the back of the testicle, in the epididymis. The testicles hang in a sack, called the scrotum, that sits outside of the body because it is necessary for sperm to be stored at a temperature that is slightly below that of the body.

    Testicles are for producing sperm. Not sure what you mean by insulative value. They retract with cold and relax with heat in an attempt to keep an even temperature for the development of the spermatazoa.

    testicles store and produce sperm, they are a bit colder than the rest of your body to keep the sperm at a temperature where they can live. they hang from the body so they are not as influenced by body heat.
