Hummingbird and some species of Sun bird have the ability to fly in backward motion, but do not fly backwards all the time , this movement (backward flying) is only used when feeding or hovering.

hummingbirds fly backwards. they are like helicopters. there wings act like helicopters. they go up, back, down, etc. this helps them get to their food (flowers) hope this helps. :)
