Will the City Inspector throw me out tomorrow?
I'm a renter living in a converted Garage, the city code enforcement people are coming tomorrow. Will I be asked to leave right away or will they give me 30 day Notice? I'm afraid when they see how bad the electrical wiring is they will condemn the unit and I'll be asked to leave.

If they condemn ut you have to leave right away. You will either have an hour to get out or 24 hours.
They do not have to give you any notice or evict you. Unless that garage has a permit you are leaving tomorrow, they will not allow you to sleep there after that.

If the inspector decides that the premises are not safe in which to live, you will be required to leave VERY quickly, but not immediately. The inspectors understand that it is not possible to move immediately, and will generally give you a few days to find somewhere else to live.

If it is bad they can stand there while you remove your clothing and personal papers. Then give you another few hours to move out furniture. Never 30 days but always 24 hours or less

If its unsafe they can and should make you leave tomorrow.
