I had a nightmare, what does it mean?
It started off as quite a dark dream.. nothing was scary exactly, but everything looked like it was going to turn into a nightmare anyway.
I wasn't even thinking negatively in the dream, but out of nowhere, I heard a mans voice scream so loud in my head and it was the most horrible scream and most shocking thing that's happened to me in a dream since i was little. I panicked in my sleep, and my partner woke me up because i was panicking in real life too.
I don't understand how it just came out of the blue like that? I haven't had a nightmare for years. None that i can remember anyway.

Nightmares are your subconscious way of trying to get you to pay attention to a problem that your waking mind is either unaware of or ignoring. If you haven't had a nightmare for years you probably haven't had a need for them but they can come on suddenly. There isn't much to go on in this dream to interpret, if you have another I would suggest going to this site to try and figure it out. http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/ I can give you this though:

Something could be bothering you. Where you paralyzed in fear and could not wake up? If so that could mean a sleep haunting.
