Should I bother getting a PS3 when the PS4 is on its way?
I still have an orginal PS2 and have been mulling over getting the PS3 because there are games I badly want to be playing at this point. I would also love to be streaming Netflix onto the T.V. However, what's this news about a PS4, and should I just hold out for one of those? And while we're at it, what's the best PS3 to get?

Well, there is obviously no date set as to when the next PS3 is coming out, but 2013 is the expected year. 2013 is a logical release year because the PS3 lost millions in sales for being the last of this generation’s consoles to be released, and with the Wii U next gen console coming out, it is highly unlikely that Sony will release their next PlayStation iteration far behind Nintendo's, or Microsoft's for that matter. But, even if you could theoretically wait until 2013 to buy a new console, the first year of a console's existence is almost always an arduous one... The PS3 cost about $700 dollars at first (an awful, unlikely to be repeated mistake), and there was a severe lack of games available for the system. Another problem is actually acquiring a system in its first year, as there is always a shortage of consoles, probably to raise demand... So, in all likelihood, you would need to wait until late 2013 or early 2014 just to get a PS4, if the theoretical 2013 release year is even correct. To answer your first question, if you can wait until 2014, go for the PS4. But, I personally would recommend running out as soon as possible and buying a PS3, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, Call of Duty or Battlefield, BioShock, an HDMI cable, and just game for the rest of the weekend. The painful wait will probably not be worth it. As for your second question, the PS3 is a dual layer Blu-Ray system. Those discs read at a decently slower rate than the discs used by Wii and Xbox, so for most games just to run, at least 1 GB of the game needs to be saved to the hard drive. And that is the minimum in my experience. Skyrim takes 5 GB without any save games! I have a 120 Gig PS3, and it is just not big enough. My recommendation is to buy, at minimum, the 160 Gig slim (new model) PS3, but if you can afford the huge 250 and 320 Gig models, definitely go for those. To recap, I recommend just buying a PS3 now, and getting a 160 Gigabyte or larger model.

Ps4 has no announced date to come out yet but the wii 2 comes out next year the PS4 will be a minumum of at least 2 years think about it they just released ps move and all new games are still coming out a good time to see when a new system is about to come out is when new games dont start releasing as much. Id say go ahead its two years at least for xbox and playstaion both.

The release of the PS Vita handheld alone eliminates any chance of a 2012 release........
The release date will be announed at least one year before, so the odds of 2013 doesn't look too good, either............
You really want to wait that long?
The best PS3 to get is the one you can obtain in brand new condition. This usually means picking up a PS3 Slim off of your local Wal-Mart shelf.

The ps4 will probably come out in the 2014, or later !! They just came out with the Psvita ! About the best ps3 to buy.. it depends by yourself.. if you want to play online then buy a normal ps3 160gb in a shop.. but if you dont want to play online and you just want to play in cooperative mode with your friend i suggest you a modified ps3, if you search it on the internet you will find it ! A ps3 with a custom firmware it's rreeeaaalllyyy convenient !!
Here is an example of a new ps3 with a customfirmware: http://www.electronics-mod.com/default.asp?cmd=get...
And sorry for my english but i'm italian, hope that i've helped you ! :)

The Ps4 release date is for December this year, but I would recommend getting the Ps3 there are not going to be many improvements on the Ps4 plus its going to cost a small fortune for the first couple years, also there wont be many games for it also. If you can hold off though the Ps3 will be dropping in price after the Ps4 comes out.
