If this is supposed to be a completely neutral list, where preference and actual involvement are delegated fairly, then I'm not a fan of it all. What I'm trying to say is; if this a favorites list, then it actually has a plentiful amount of good albums, if it's not - then there are a fair few glaring omissions:

DJ Quik's The Book Of David should definitely be there, and not because I'm a stan but because it's his best album for years and one of the most mature of it's kind...

Shabazz Palaces' Black Up is another album that should be an automatic inclusion as it not only tries to push hip-hop forward but is EASILY the closest 2011 came to a classic...

It could also do with a few inclusions OUTSIDE of North America - it was a great year for UK hip-hop and if you're going to include an album by Drake then why not Tinie Tempah or Wretch 32 for example?!

...and what about Roots Manuva's 4Everevolution?

    I could go on...

For what it is, I suppose it's ok and I'll acknowledge that you can only go by what you've heard so if this is the case, which he more or less insinuates, then Premier did a respectable enough job...

The fundamental problem I still have with this list is that a lot of the albums are analogous and pretty uniform - it's either hardcore hip-hop collaborations by the usual suspects or jazzed-up contemporary boom bap efforts harking back to past eras - with a few token commercial albums thrown in...

BQ: Bad Meets Evil, The Big 10, Heavy Metal Kings, Take Care, Scars And Stripes

Practically all of these albums straddle the line dangerously between solid and mediocre - it's not like this is a top 100...

@ Z-Dub - bias is certainly a word that popped into my head

Decent list but did he really put Take Care at number 12 and only have Undun and W.A.R. as honorable mentions? also no Section.80, The Dreamer/The Believer or Oneirology...

BQ: The biggest surprise would be The Big 10 by 50 Cent at number 6,

mainly because it's a mixtape, in which case it's surprising that he didn't include Elmatic or Return of 4Eva instead, and it was also pretty terrible.

Preem gets a pass, his lists are biased every year and everyone knows it.

BQ: I'm only surprised about the 9th Wonder album, mostly because he ranked it at 2 and it was garbage
