How do I fix a broken toilet? Would duck tape work?

My toilet broke and is leaking all over the place. What is the best way to fix it?

    yeah i broke mine so i used some duck tape and it worked fine. for a minute...

    Are you crazy? Duct tape will NOT fix a broken toilet!
