I`ve been drawing wolves for a while now, and what I find really helps is learning the wolf anatomy. That means looking at pictures, drawing those pictures, watching video clips and see how all their muscles work (which will help you with how the joints bend and where they are placed).

Learning realistic wolves first is always the best thing to do, but if you don`t want to, just draw the pictures of real wolves and make them a little more cartoony.

Hope this helps! And best of luck to your drawing!

getting proportions right really helps when drawing any style, if you want it to look good. Even cartoons, which I like to draw. Garfield is a great comic strip and also has good artwork.

If you can, be around some dogs, hang out at the shelter and spend some time with some dogs that are wolfish in appearance- it helps a lot to get hands on with what you want to draw- particularly animals- my friend's dad shoes horses and because he's been around them so much for so long, he can draw them excellently, but he can't really draw anything else. I only wish I could sketch a horse like he does. So study up in different forms and get familiar with the subject in a tangible way. just keep practicing.

ok instead of trying to make look furry try more like they do in mangas (jappeneese cartoons) only not as dramatic and for the size of the limbs look at some pictures and see how the muscles flex it might not me the size it might just not look rite because theres no muscle
