They went to the moon.

At the time 1969, the space race and the cold war were intense between the USSR and the USA. If the moon landings had been a big hoax, the Russians would have definitely have debunked it. They did not and agencies all around the world were watching, not just the USA TV feed, but their own telescopes, radio telescopes and telemetry monitoring systems.

All the so-called "evidence", such as "the reflection in the helmet visor does not show the other astronaut holding a camera", have been totally debunked. The cameras were chest mounted as operating a normal SLR camera in a spacesuit would be virtually impossible.

How do kids who were not even alive at the time believe that they know more about the events than those who were?

WE didn't.

Several astronauts did, things like the reflectors they placed on the moon are proof of that.

Just assume that the moon missions were a lie for a moment. That would mean that those astronauts and quite a number of other people would KNOW they were fake; just how likely is it that none of them ever 'leaked' proof that they were fake?

As you know, the Russians and Americans were in competition to be the first on the moon. The only way the USA would have been able to fake the moon missions, then, would have had to involve fooling the Russians. Back then, the Russians would have had NO reason to help the USA fool people whatsoever and they would have been able to spot trickery.

It is not, and has never been, a matter of opinion. The Apollo lunar landings are among the most heavily documented events in the whole of human history. There is simply no way they were faked, and no-one who has suggested they were has been able to come up with a plausible explanation for how and why it was done.

Something must be living on the moon. They say the moon is made of green cheese and it has so many holes in it so something must be eating at all that green cheese.

If you're ignorant of the Apollo program and scientifically illiterate, there is room to see it as a hoax. When you have a decent understanding of both, any hoax which fits with the available facts would have to be a grander undertaking than the actual Apollo program.

We left retro-reflectors on the Moon. If you have the equipment you can measure the distance to the Moon using them.
