circulating air in a bathroom without an exhaust fan?
My boyfriend lives in a Co-Op that has a strict board. Long story short- we need to figure out how to circulate air in a bathroom that has a window (which we open) but we can not install an exhaust fan and there is no duct work in the attic to try and do it anyway. this is all in hopes to stop cleaning mold build up from a moist room. Any recommendations other than "move" ?

They make small fans which can fit into an open window, perhaps he could use one of them?
Worst case, you can set a fan in the door - this will at least mix the moisture into the rest of the air in the apartment, but really only blunts the problem - that moisture really should be shoved outside.
Approach the Co-Op courteously - they should realize that mold and moisture issues in one unit could damage the rest of the units.

I'd try a small fan sitting near the doorway of the bathroom to circulate the air toward the open window. Just be sure to keep the fan away from any water. That should help with the dampness and resulting mold.

The purpose of the EXHAUST fan is to take moisture OUT of the room. Circulating air INSIDE the room won't do any good. The answer for dealing with the co-op board is to INFORM them that an exhaust fan is legally REQUIRED, and they CAN'T prohibit what the law requires.

No. There's not much you can do other than just opening up the window if you can't get an exhaust fan in there.

Our window has a small fan built into it, in the glass sorta, so you can run the fan, or you can open the window.
