Will word 2011 files open in word 2008?

It is a .docx file and I see options for saving as compatible with 2004-2007 versions, but not as 2008. This makes me optimistic that I won't have to save my files as multiple versions.

    2008 and 2011 use the same file format. You could also save it in the 2007 format and anything newer can open that.
