Why is myShi-tzu making this sound?
She is making a noise that is a cross between a snort, grunt, a cough, or clearing her nose. I have heard my other dogs make this sound, but she has been doing it today only, on and off for 8 hours. Why is she doing that and should I be worried?

Google reverse sneezing. There is a video of a dog doing this and you'll know if this is what your dog is doing.
The fact that she's been doing it on and off for 8 hours is a worry. She may have a grass seed in her nose so you should take her to the vet.
