Shanny Gives Marchand 5 Games?
Are you happy with this knowing that it means next time he is likely to get more.
He basically called him I liar about protecting himself.
Cam Neely was fragile. I am interested to hear what he thinks about these cheap shot hits.
What is wrong with me comparing Neely to Salo? Sami "Balls of Steel" Salo averages more games per year than Neely did his final six years. Both injury prone. Yet, Salo's diverse injuries include broken rid, knee, shoulder, back and a ruptured testicle. So to blame the victim for being injury prone, especially when it isn't a player getting concussions while playing with his head down, or playing with his back to other players and constantly boarded. No, these are players that give their all. SO, would Cam who gave his all and suffering a lot of leg injuries with one hit finally ending his career say such a cheap hit is okay because the victim has been hurt before???
that's broken "rib"

I wil agree with the suspension, much to my dismay, I am knowledgeable of his former incidents... I will say something against him though, he is one of our top offensive guys. We can't go into the next five games like this, and I am not confident in this at all. If he is going to be our top goal scorer he cannot continue to act like a goon. He can either behave and stop with the dirty, or stop his offensive production because we count on him in the second line.

It has been some time since I have answered a question on here so I will choose this one to make my return.
I am one of many Bruins fans in the Boston area that think he should have gotten suspended for this. It was a dirty hit, by marchand and he got what he deserved. He is a decent player as far as I am concerned but when he pulls this crap it seriously hurts the B's was proved on saturday when the Canucks put 2 in on the PP from the marchand hit.
As for Neely being fragile, all I will say is that single statement proves your lack of hockey knowledge.
As to all the people calling the Bruins cheap shot artists I will say 2 things.
1: There are many players on many teams that have been called cheap shot artists, so take a look at your own team and their history before you start casting stones.
2: You dont have the most goals for and the least goals against in the entire league by being cheap shot artists. I would also like to remind you that they had the most goals for and least goals against a few games ago and did not have a player in the top 30 scores in the league, which seguin is now a member of at #24 I think. Once again think before you speak.

He is a repeat offender but Shanahan is also the master fun killer.
I think he should of gotten some games but not anywhere near five.
I would say three games would of been a sufficient enough suspension with Sami Salo getting a fine for acting like a little kid and throwing a fit after he got hit.

It didn't look like he was protecting himself. If he hadn't ducked down to take out Salo's knees, it would have been, at worst, a shoulder to shoulder hit, with no one being injured on the play. Injured pride is easier to recover from than a concussion.

5 games???? Im shocked I thought maybe 3 at most, 5 is excessive. Salo is so fragile I don't see how you can take the fact he was injured on the play and apply an extra game or two.

I'm glad that Marchand and the Bruins finally got what they deserved. The whole team is dirty and gets away with everything (Lucic's hit on Miller for example).

Good call on Shanny's part. Bruins players have made quite a reputation for themselves, and I predict several more suspensions upcoming.
As a repeat offender, I'd have liked to see more, but I won't be selfish here. A Bruin FINALLY got what was rightfully coming to him. I'm satisfied that Shanahan finally got it right.

This video shows a side by side view of Marchands hit on Raymond, and Raymond hit on Marchand. You should see Raymond hits Marchand a lot lower.
