Information about immigrating to Canada?

I'm an American citizen lived here my whole life and have become quite fed up with the state of affairs and ashamed of my country's aggression toward other nations. I plan on moving to Canada in the semi-near future, I was thinking either BC or Toronto. Currently I'm a student doing very well in junior college and planning to go to med school (possibly in Canada) after I finish my 2 year associate of science. Ultimately I'd like to become a citizen. I've read some on the government website but having a hard time wading through all the jargon. What would be the best way to work toward this goal?

Update:

@BookNeard: Even if I don't speak french?

    If you want to be a med student I would suggest you apply to McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. It's the best university in Canada.

    as a effect, funds could help. in case you go with to open a company, funds talks. The "lost Canadian" attitude is your ultimate wager. forget approximately married to an American, and so on. Get your mom registered as a Canadian and paintings down from there. verify who can sponsor, it somewhat is not cousins and such like and while human beings look at what they ought to do they could have some misgivings.
