UK only offering on a house?
How much would you offer on a house with asking price of 200k. Knowing that it has been empty for 4 years and there have been NO other offers or interest, despite it having been for sale with 2 agents, is an executor sale and needs quite a bit of essential work (approx 20k)
Thank you Steph, we were thinking 180, just been to have another look (from outside) just abit nervous at 170 in case they think we're not serious - but may try that

I would offer £170,000. If they say no and say they want the asking price then say you will meet them halfway at £185,000. If they still say no then just say you are not prepared to increase. Sit back and wait as 9 times out of 10 they will come back to you after a few days.
