What is a term in Italian to show you're frustrated?

I'm writing a novel that takes place in Florence, Italy and I want one of my older characters to mumble an Italian phrase when he's frustrated. It can be a little outdated as it takes place 100 years ago.

    heiii:)

frustrated = frustrato ( or irritato, it dipends from the contest) ... you can say c'è rimasto male / è frustrato .. but i think that it isn't a specific word , you can say it with adjectives .. or maybe you can say: dannazione!! / caspita / cavolo (but it's very unformal when you speak with friends)

    kiss from venice:)

have a nice job with this novel.. voglio dirti: spero venga bene il tuo libro!! fammi sapere !!

Maybe "Dannazione!", equivalent to 'damn', 'dammit', 'gee' or 'blimey' in English.
