    Refering to the OSI layer. (Guidelines to networking)

    The Physical layer is the actual physical means and standards of connections, frequencies the frames are put on the line.

    The Data Link layer, Packets are taken from layer 3 and organized into Frames and additional protocol headings and are prepared for the physical layer.
