How long does it take for a Red Devil Cichlid's egg laying tube to go back inside the fish?
I have a female Red Devil Cichlid who just laid eggs for the first time today and her egg laying tube is still exposed. About how long will it take for this tube to go back inside of her? I also do not have a male in the tank with her, so what will happen to the unfertilized eggs? Will she eat them, or do I have to clean them out of the tank? Any help will be appreciated :-)

If they didn't get fertilized, she will most likely eat them. If not and you don't have a catfish type, you may have to get them out so the fungus won't spread. Her tube will usually take a few days to retract.
