feel like a stabbing pain behind one eye?

Exedrine Migraine pills sometimes work, but sometimes the headaches are so bad, even those don't work. Has anybody found medications, treatments that help?

It sounds like you might suffer from migraines (which is a neurological disorder that includes much more than headache). Get yourself to the doctor to make sure the recurring headaches aren't from a different source. If they are migraines they can get you on the road to feeling better with preventatives to hopefully stop some of the migraines and then abortive meds to stop the migraine once it has started (if you catch it early enough).

I have chronic migraines so sometimes I get the sharp behind-the-eye headaches. It took me two years to see a doctor about it and I wish I had gone sooner! I am now on meds that have reduced the severity of the migraines and I'm working on finding out what my food triggers are to be able to avoid those to avoid more headaches! Triptans help me out a lot in aborting a migraine and I only found Excedrin Migraine to only help the very minor headaches.

Take a look at www.migraine.com to see if you are having any other migraine symptoms and then get yourself to the doctor.

I've been suffering from migraines since I was a child. I'm 65 and still get them. I know my triggers, one is diesel fuel, and fluorescent lights, as well as other smells and even weather. Tarkkari is correct with the diary and pattern. A doctor will ask you about the pattern, what triggers them, Are there any foods that make you have this headache. I finally went to see a Neurologist My neurologist did extensive tests. What he found??? he called "complicated migraines" I am now on a prescription that really works, Yeah the stabbing pain in the eye is terrible. You should see a doctor and don't self diagnose. Make sure it's not sinus headaches, or caused from allergies. Yes allergies. Many things can cause a headache or a migraine. By keeping a close tab on what causes them, makes it easier for your Doctor. See your doctor if nothing relieves them Good luck

The best cure is to find the trigger and avoid that.

Try keeping a diary of what you have eaten (everything), your activities, the weather, and when the headaches occur.

Look for a pattern and you will probably find the culprit.

My migraines started when I went on a health kick and stopped drinking coffee, the tablets my Dr gave me for my migraines were 50% caffeine. Provided I have at least one cup of weak coffee a day I don't get them any more.

I know several people who get them from chocolate, another from yogurt, another from thunderstorms and another from fluorescent lights.

The secret to relieving headaches or even curing them is 4 things:

    1. Sleep 2. Have a clean colon(Most American's don't) 3. avoid the things that caused the headache in the first place 4. Balance yourself out with good nourishing foods to neutralize acids in your body(and perhaps relieving headache).

Of course, when you stop doing certain things like stop drinking coffee, you might as a result get detox symptoms(like MORE headaches), but keep avoiding coffee because in the long run it will pay off and you won't get headaches anymore.

Long chronic headaches are a result of parathyroid imbalance or lymphatic constipation. Whenever you get a cold for example, you might get a headache as a result. Any cold or flu is a lymphatic problem.

Massage can help too, but not like other protocols

mesa is talking aromatherapy, and me too. I find that a drop or two of Lavender essential oil rubbed into each temple stops migraines, so tension headaches might stop as well.
