Yesterday a lot of mails, nearly 500 or so which is in the address book or those who I have sent in the past?

was sent, without me sending it and this is not in my sent folders. This was an ad- mail - 'Be your own boss'

My question is

How did this happen?

who may have sent them? (definately not from my computer as it is not in the sent folder)

How do I prevent this from happening again?

Thanks -

Your contacts list may have been compromised. The best thing to do,

Tell your friends not to click on any links in those email,as

they will have virus/or worms attached

You and your friends will need to do a full spyware scan, and check

your contact list for email address/s that shouldn't be there, and

    remove them.

Finally change your password, and make a note of your new one.

this link helps to explain whats going on,just click on it

    to access.
