What is remedy for sore muscles from stress and frozen shoulder (inflamed tendon). Must *not* be ASA based?

Update:

Doctor dx'd inflamed tendon yesterday. I am an old woman, not a young athlete. The tendon is sometimes called "frozen shoulder." It's an old woman thing. As for muscles, it's tension from PTSD, all over my body, even the soles of my feet. Doctor suggested cream for both, but I'm taking Asaphed so can't get cream with ASA.

    You are talking about tight back muscles that will cause those things, not inflamed tendons. I haven't found anything that would inflame just one part of the body like that, but it's been used to describe tight muscles forever. Muscles, on the other hand have many ways to tighten up, from injury, overuse or even cold weather. To get relief to your back muscles you have to free them back up and that should help you with all your problems and here's how to free them up:

    Back:

    (do while sitting)

    Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.

    For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

    general advice for most any injury is 'cold for 24 hours' (to decrease swelling) then hot and cold (three minutes as hot as you can stand alternating with about 1 minute of ice water--- to increase circulation to the area to speed healing.) Drugs don't help problems, they just move them around.
