Obama wants to shrink government...is he finally following through on his promise of transparency?

As in, this is the most transparent, desperate move to appear to want "smaller government" and only his mindless sheep and the politically ignorant will actually think this is sincere?

No he is merely collecting polling data, trying to figure out what he can run on that is still believable and attainable as his platform for Re-Election. He knows he cannot run on his record, so he must figure out what is the Demographic of voter he has lost and run on blame for the things he can say the Republicans had forced him to do that was bad for the country.

Democrats typically will make these more Conservative statements to see which way the Country is leaning on issues, and how important of a role it will play on planning his Campaign bid. You will notice that the current bunch of Republican Candidates are doing the exact opposite, trying to out Liberal each other in order to gain momentum from the former Obama supporting Independents.

This election cycle is going to be the most important bid since WWII, and is going to decide the fate of the Country and the Western civilization for the next 50 years. I pray for my children and their children after them..........................

" entitling him to an up-or-down vote from Congress in 90 days. "

" Still, final say would remain with lawmakers, both on whether to grant Obama this fast-track authority and then in deciding whether to approve any of his specific ideas "

I once told my parents I wish I had enough money to buy an elephant. They asked me why in the world I'd want to buy an elephant. I told them I didn't. I just wanted the MONEY to buy an elephant.

Same with Obama. He wants expanded power to shrink the government agencies. I find it hard to believe that he'll USE that power to shrink the agencies. More likely it will give him expanded CONTROL to do more of what he wants, WITHOUT Congressional approval which he needs at THIS time to continue his own agenda.

Even if you take Obama at face value for the benefits of this program he proposes it dwaves in comparison to the number of federal workers required to support Obama care so it is another example of bait and switch.

What he is suggesting would save only $3 billion over TEN years. When the US is currently spending $10 Billion PER DAY that is hardly anything to brag about. Does he think everyone is stupid?

No Lib in history has ever wanted to shrink government. Obama is no different. He is consolidating power

I think it is a campaign move for 2012 election. He wants that 20% that Ron Paul is attracting. The polls are showing that, that 20% are blue collar independents.

  • This has nothing to do with "transparency", for which Obama does not know the meaning of the word. He also misunderstands the meaning of the word "shrink".
