getting eyebrows waxed for the first time?

I really want to get my eyebrows waxed before my school dance, but my mom couldnt get an appointment till the day of the dance. Its scheduled for about 8 hours before the dance. Its my first time and i know that the area around your eyebrows can turn red after waxing them, but i was wondering how long the redness lasts and if it is really noticeable? I really wanna fix up my eyebrows but I dont if i should because the appointment is on the same day as the dance. What is your advice?

    yea 8 hours is a long time. i say your fine. in a quick tip, after you get your eyebrows done, you can dab a bit of cold water on the area, so it stops the redness. thats what i do after i do my eyebrows.

    but also like someone pointed out....if you havent gotten this done before, you might not know how your skin is going to react to the waxing product.... so its all on you to decide if you want to get it waxed or not. especially if its your first time. and if its not your first time, then you should know how red the area gets.

    goodluck =)

    Yea the redness should go by then. If it doesn't, chances are it will only be a little bit pink so conceler should cover it. Throughout the day try and keep the area cool you could use an ice pack or something and the swelling/redness will reduce :)

    I'm sure the redness will be long gone after 8 hours. Don't worry! Have fun.

    i wouldn't do it the day of. your skin may have a reaction. why can't you get an appointment with anyone else a few days before? that's way safer. what would you rather have, your eyebrows like they are now or red marks and maybe scabs? weigh your options.

    My adivice is if it still red after waxing , use an ice cube

    to reduce the redness . And If that doesn't work , there's

    always makeup .

    They'll be fine by then! If not, then just put some concealer where they are red. Mine usually fade after a half hour or less, and I have very sensitive skin.

    they'll be fine! eight hours is way enough! you can apply ice to it to help the swelling, or usually the waxed applies a cooling gel after the wax.

    Source(s): and don't worry, it doesn't hurt!
