2006 Yamaha YZF-R6 Engine Idle Problem?

Hello, All!

Well For The Past Few Months, I've Been Experiencing A Problem With My 2006 Yamaha YZF-R6, and Hopefully: Ya'll Can Help. First Off, The Bike Is Fuel Injected, Not Carbuerated, and About (7) mnths. ago, My Bike Would Just Die Coming To Stops At Lights and Stop Signs Etc.

I Replaced The Air Temp. Sensor, Ran Fuel Cleaner Through The Tank, Changed The Spark Plugs, Replaced The Air Filter, Replaced The Battery, and Voltage Regulator Rectifier, Just To Have The Problem Only Get Worse Over Time.

Now, The Bike Will Not Fire When I Hit The " Engine Start" Button. All Is Does Is Duh, Duh, Duh, Duh, Duh, Duh: But NOT Fire! I'm Thinking There's Only A Few More Things I Can Replace Such As: The E.C.U., Throttle Position Sensors, and or The O2 Sensor? Maybe Even Adjust The Engine Idle Screw On The Throttle Bodies? But "NO" Dealerships Will Do That For Me.

The Bike Is "Completely" Stock! No Upgrades Are On It What So Ever! The ECU, Exhaust, Air Filter, Everything Is Stock. I Also Had The Valves, and Cams Looked At But Was Told: They're Fine. I Don't Race, or Ride Wheelies! The Bike Is Just Cruised Around Town.

A Bit More: It's Supposed To Idle At Around 1,500 RPM From The Factory, But When It Ran It Ran Way Below This Mark. Normally Around 5-900 RPM Mark. I'm In The Dallas, Texas Area, and If Anyone Can Not Only Supply Advice, But Maybe Help Me VIA Face To Face, That Would Be Great. I Also Have Skype, If That Might Work?

Thanks For The Help, and Hopefully I Can Solve This Problem. Please Leave Your Suggestions Below: Thanks.....

Fuel Pump my guess or it's an electric problem!

Inspect the bank angle sensor (tip over switch).

If the bike were to fall in a crash, the bank angle switch would trip

the engine cut off and fuel pump relay.

If the switch worked intermittently, that could cause your problems.

FIRST OF ALL........I_Love_Chick, Is WRONG!!!! I guess her or his dad is not teaching his kid nothing. The Yzf R6 is a 600cc and a Yzf R1 is a 1000cc. Therefore, A R1 has more torge and power, better handeling. A R1 is a awesome bike for more experience riders. It has alot of power. A Yzf R6, is more of a beginners bike which is stil alot of power, Dont get me wrong. It just has way less power and less weight as an R1.

Valves are out of adjustment! The titanium valves have a coating that wears off over time causing your valves to be way out of whack. It will start to run like **** and not want to idle. It is an expensive repair

I know it sounds dumb, but did you adjust your idle screw? It's on the lower left side under the fairing. It sounds like its just way too low and would cause stalls and won't start if your rpms are too low. Maybe try turning it a full turn clockwise and try starting it again.

If you keep throwing parts at it then you will end up spending more than getting a mechanic to look at it, diagnose the problem and possibly repair it. Not all dealerships and mechanics can be so swamped with work that they can afford to turn down work.
