Will I run into problems registering a motorcycle with out of state title but with California plates?
The motorcycles title is in north Carolina, but he registered it and the license plate is in California. Will there be a problem with the DMV if I try to register it in my name? Will a verification of the vehicle need to be done?

his guy is pulling something shady and your going to get burned. Im from ca and they do not give you tags and registration unless the vehicle has been retitled. My guess is he owes money for a title loan or there is a lien holder or a bunch of outstanding tickets. CA is the worst state in the world for excess fees or tickets or any other problems. I bought trucks where the owner was going to junk it, instead of pay more than the vehicle was worth in outstanding fees. I took them to oregon and registered them because I lived there. I dont know what that guy is up to but its going to bite you if you put down your hard earned money.

If you want to register it in your name, you need to get the title in your name.
